In short
On the clay-limestone soils that gave it its name, this premier cru is all about finesse. The nose blends black fruit, rose petals and a hint of pepper. Dense yet delicate, the palate rests on fine tannins and stretches into a very long finish. An elegant Pommard that gains depth over the years.
Ageing
Aged in oak barrels that have been used before, with about one third new barrels.
Nose
Elegant and precise, blending blackcurrant, blackberry and rose petals, with a hint of black pepper.
Palate
Dense yet delicate, with fine, tight-knit tannins. It stretches into a long, fresh and lingering finish.
